I just turned 13 and I can touch backboard by an inch or so by running and jumping as high as I can which would be around 9’7". My height is around 5’8" and my vertical reach is 7’3" which means my running vertical leap is 2’4" or 28", is that good considering I dont play any sports (yet).

First, is it possible to become athletic if you weren’t naturally born that way? I mean I guess it is, through practice, practice, practice. But what are some ways to practice? I’m not looking to become some star, but to be respectable in the sports I play (basketball, baseball, soccer, etc). How can I get faster, jump higher, etc.?
Handeye coordination also, how can I improve that?

I am a generous 6ft, 148 pounds. Without any real training besides jumping around randomly in basketball practice, i can jump and grab rib very easily. I still could not touch rib with both hands though. For the first time a few days ago, i jumped and grabbed rim with both hands and not only touched, but was able to hang. i have not really tried any programs or had much of a structured workout so i feel like with some help, my vertical jump could increase a lot. I also, for the first time, did track and field this year as a freshman. I do long jump, trip. jump, high jump, and hurdles. Without any previous long jump experience at all or even a pit to practice in outside of meets, i won the confrence meet which i was extremely happy about. I would like to think i am naturally very athletic. I breifly tried air alert and did see a crazy increase in my vertical jump after only a few days but my knees began to hurt. Some advice would be much appreciated. I am really trying to work on dunking and i want to keep on long jumping. Also, between the two sports and offseason training i dont have much free time.

I’m a 14 yr old baseball and football player. I need to get in GREAT shape for these two sports. I want to have a strong body all together, but really want to focus on my legs so I can run faster, jump higher, go longer, etc.

What is a great workout I can do daily to get in the best shape I can be in?

I am 185, and I sometimes even jump lower than people who are 160. I do many sports, such as kendo, volleyball, swimming etc, but somehow I just seems like I lack of jumping power. I can run fast, and in a long distance better than average. But why I just can’t jump high enough? Has anyone experienced this? I don’t need any exercises because I am starting to do squats everyday, I just want to hear some stories of yours who had experienced the same problem as me.
