I am a freshman and I’m 5′ 8", 135, and I can touch the rim when I jump. I want to be able to dunk by next basketball season. What can I do besides squats to make my self jump higher. I already squat 285. Is there any way I can be able to jump higher using exercises of some sort?

Hey Yahoo! I’m about 5’10 and am about 2-3 inches away from hitting the rim. I have weights and a basketball rim at my use but how can i increase my leaping ability? I checked on Google but they have websites in which you need to buy a book or some kinds of software. Please help! Dunking would be a great tool when basketball season comes around. So yeah… please write back and respond on how i can get better! THANKS!

Me and my friend are both 6 3 and about the same weight around 140. We can both touch regulation rim when we are having a good day, but cant grab yet, just touch. I would really appriciate some goid tips from dunkers out there that will have me and my buddy dunking by the next high school basketball season.

Does anyone know how I can increase my vertical leap during the high school basketball season without spending money on a bunch of stuff? I am 5’6" freshman and can obviously touch the net but I want to dunk by junior year.

For those who played basketball. I knew a guy I grew up with he and I used to play ball together and sometimes against each other. Pick up ball. He was my height, and couldn’t dunk, he could touch the rim at that time. He joined the high school basketball team and was dunking TWO HANDED….really EASY! I asked him what did he do over the basketball season to get those results. He said, "I’m not telling you." I was upset, because I always wanted to be able to dunk as well. He’s grown a couple of inches taller than me since then, however at the time he was dunking two handed. We were the same height. His frame, he’s very very slender, it might be because he’s so lightweight is what I’m guessing. Tell me what you think he was probably doing? Plus, I don’t know the name for it…but there’s a thing you do where you’re up against a wall with your legs bent at a 90 degree angle as if you’re sitting in a chair and basically you’re holding your body up for as long as you can. Does it work?
