is there any exercises or workouts out there that can help me improve my vert because in my high school basketball courts i can touch the backboard i just need about 5-10 more inches so i can dunk and i think every basketball player wants 2 dunk

by the way im 5’7
164 pounds and im going 2 be a sophomore this upcoming skool year

I play basketball and i want to be able to dunk next year in 8th grade. i can already touch the back of the backboard with most of my arm but i want to be ablt to dunk on a 10 foot goal. Can i get some tips on how to make my jump higher?

I used to weight 148 and be able to grab the rim easy. Now, I weigh 200 pounds. I bulked up over the years, and believe I hindered my jumping ability with combined muscle and fat. I don’t lift weights anymore because of this recently and I do at least 75% cardio for my fitness workouts now. My basketball skills have gotten better again because I don’t feel like a bodybuilder running the hardwood, I’m more agile in other words. I’m seriosly trying to get my vertical back to where it belongs is this just from getting older and bulkier and there’s nothing I can do about it? I am barely tapping the backboard now. When I was light as a feather I was jumping higher than I was now. Should I burn that fat and not concern myself with muscle, as if I were 148 pounds 11 years ago? I think I can’t move my body weight off the floor with these extra pounds on me. What do you think? Muscle and fat. Get my weight down? By the way I’m 5 ft. 9 inches. Want to be light as a feather and get sky high.

I’m 15 years old and 5’7" and have a reach of about 6’6". Is it okay that at my highest jump I can only get 5-6 inches underneath the backboard? Is that average jumping or a little higher or lower then the average? And any tips to increase this vertical?

i can touch the bottom of the backboard consistently within the first knuckle of my fingers, how many more inches do i need?
